30 Weeks!

 30 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: Thats a sore subject at the moment and it will be kept private thank you!

Maternity clothes?  Yup!

Stretch marks? Nope
and fingers crossed it stays that way.

Sleep:I fall asleep easily but I wake up because I need to use the bathroom at least once during the night. Usually around 4 am or so. Then I get up with Sean when he leaves for work.
Best moment this week: Sean being totally weirded out because she was pushing out on my belly over and over for about 15 minutes one night and you could see it and feel it.

Movement: Depends on the day but she pushes out more than she kicks. Usually most at night.

Food cravings: Apples with peanut butter

Belly Button in or out? Very close to being out, it's very flat right now.

Wedding rings on or off? Had to come off this last week. Too much swelling going on and I was afraid that they would need to be cut off if it got worse.

What I miss: Being able to roll over in bed without getting out of breath!

What I am looking forward to: That there is only at most 9 weeks or so until we meet her!

Follow up appointment today

Last week at our Dr. appointment it showed on my ultrasound that I had high amniotic fluid levels and baby girl was measuring 3 weeks ahead. My dr's first thought was that I had Gestational Diabetes because when you have gestational diabetes you have bigger babies and higher fluid levels. Thankfully I had passed that test so we knew that wasn't the problem. Unfortunately that put me and baby at a higher risk for preterm labor and other issues. I am HAPPY to report that our daughter is fine and this week my fluid levels were a bit lower so for now we are in the clear. Fluid levels were 27 and now they are 23. This puts them still in a high range but in the mildly high range. Both Sean and I are extremely happy that everything is ok with our baby girl. Due to the risk involved I we also have 3D ultrasounds last week and today to check to make sure she didn't have a cleft lip. Last week they didn't get a clear picture of her upper lip because she was hiding her face. Today we got some AMAZING pictures of her face. I'm starting to agree with Sean and my mom that she looks like me. These pictures really make me even more excited and impatient to meet her!!!

Happy Halloween!

The Saturday before Halloween our friends had a party with kids invited. I wanted to wear some kind of costume and ended up making a shirt that I saw online. I knew I could make it and the supplies including the shirt ended up being $3.
Sean and I had a great time at the party and we even went to a haunted house one of the neighbors had. Sean went in but I wasn't able to because of my heart issues. I was super glad I didn't because they chased you with a chainsaw and that would have gotten my heart racing.

Trip to NY

October 15-23 (I was 23 weeks pregnant) we flew to Rochester, NY to visit our families. We had tons planned and we were super excited to see everyone.

Sunday was my shower which was great and I saw so many people I had been missing while living in Washington. I had a great time and got so many cute things for our baby girl!
Then Friday we had Jason and Melissa Larkin's wedding which was beautiful and very fun! I even got my hair did :)
Last but not least we had a surprise 80th birthday for my grandma. It was awesome to see how shocked she was that we invited so many people. It was easy getting them to come since she is such a sweet and caring person.

Sean and I had an amazing time in NY and we were sad to leave. It's so great to come and see family but we wish we were living closer because we miss you all so much.

30th Birthday

My birthday was October 7th and I turned 30, EEKKK! Not much partying here but Gabby drove up to see me so that was great!
Me and Gabby before going to have tea

We went out to dinner with a group of friends and then the next morning just Gabby and I went to have "high tea" out at this little tea place right around the corner from where I live. We had a great time and it was so nice to catch up with my sister. I think Sean was glad to have some "man time" as well and he went skateboarding.

It's a girl!!

profile

Leg and foot
Here are pictures of our baby girl at 18+5 weeks! We are still elated at finally finding out that we are having a girl in February. I am super excited and so is Sean. We were shocked when we found out because we both thought it was a boy and pretty much everyone else's guess was a boy as well. The rest of the scan (after finding out gender) was very in depth. They need to make measurements of femur bone, head circumference, nuchal fold, nose, and a good look at the heart. It all came out perfect and it was very cool to see everything in detail. We did find out that I have an anterior placenta which means that the placenta attached on the front side of my uterus. It's at the top so baby girl is kind of squished at the bottom. It just means that feeling movement for me won't be as much until later in the pregnancy. I do feel movement but only a couple of times a day. As she gets bigger I will feel her more and more. Yesterday I had the pleasure of feeling her kick outside of my stomach for the first time! She kicked right into my arm. Now I can't wait for Sean to feel it too! He has felt some slight movements outside but nothing quite that big yet. Soon enough :)
So back to our day of our ultrasound!
Sean had taken the day off work so after our ultrasound we went and had lunch together in the University district and then headed to Marshall's to shop a little bit. We found some great sales and bought some great outfits for her. We also went to Babies r us to add some girly items to our registry. We had a great day and it all seems more real now that we know we are having a daughter. (Still is a little surreal to me but I love it!)

It's been almost a month! Sorry :(

Ok so to start everyone off here is some pictures of the bump or "the bells" as Sean and I have been calling it.
16 weeks at the public market!

17 weeks in Levenworth with Charlie :)
Starting to really look pregnant and feel pregnant. I'm feeling much better in the last two weeks and starting to finally get my appetite back. Super happy about that. It's also been amazingly beautiful here in WA so we have been out and about a lot. I've also been feeling the baby a lot more! Certain foods like Dorito's make the baby move a lot. Dad the baby has your taste in chips! Sean is bummed he can't feel the baby move yet but I'm sure it will be soon.
Our gender scan is coming up and we are very excited to finally find out what we are having. We did have to change the date (it's now September 15th) because Sean couldn't take the 16th off. We are planning on buying a gender outfit and shopping a little after the scan. We are making a day of it because it's a super special day for us.
Not much time now before we come home to visit and Sean and I are super excited about it. Can't wait to see everyone and we have a lot of celebrations going on while home as well.
Love and miss you all!!!

Gender appointment scheduled!!

So today the doctors office called me to schedule the ultrasound to determine gender. There are many other measurements done at this scan but the only one I'm super excited about is gender!! I honestly can say that I don't care what the gender is, I just want to know :) It's September 16th in the morning and I'm just hoping the baby is as cooperative as our last scan. I now just need to figure out how to make time go much faster since we still have five weeks before we find out.

The belly

I know I'm a little behind but here is a picture of me and the belly on Sunday

It's just starting to look like a pregnant belly instead of a "I just ate too much dinner" belly.

12 week scan today!

Today we had our 12 week scan. It was awesome! The baby finally looks like a baby and he/she was very cooperative for all the measurements the tech had to do. Since it was so cooperative I'm starting to think this baby will be like Sean and not me, lol! We also got great pictures because he/she was so great at staying in one place. I asked the tech if she could give us a guess on gender but she said that at our doctors office they won't guess. So at least 7 more weeks til we know gender.

9 weeks today

The baby is 9 weeks today :)

Baby's now the size of a green olive!Your little embryo has now officially graduated to fetus-hood. Adding to the excitement, a Doppler ultrasound device might be able to pick up the beating heart. With basic physical structures in place and increasingly distinct facial features, baby is kind of starting to look like...well...a baby!

Here is a picture from today while we were at the dog park with Charlie
It's really starting to get bigger on the outside so it helps me know the baby is getting bigger on the inside as well.

Look it's sunny and beautiful here!!!

The baby is moving! (Saw it on the ultrasound)

Today I had a doctors appointment that originally did not have an ultrasound scheduled. I was super nervous this entire week because this was the week where we had the D&C last time. Thankfully the nurses at my doctors office totally understood when I talked to them on Tuesday how scared I was and she scheduled a quick ultrasound for me before my appointment this morning.
The baby is great! and I was very relieved. Thankfully I think I can finally relax now, mostly anyways. Baby was measuring right on target and the heartbeat was 161 bpm. I have also gained a pound, which is pretty normal at this stage of the game. The best part of the ultrasound was that the baby was moving! It's head was moving up and down and it's little leg and arm buds were as well. Pretty awesome to see. Sean was very upset that he missed it. I also thought it was amazing how much bigger it was this time around. Crazy how much things change in only two weeks!

8 weeks

As of Saturday July 2 the baby is 8 weeks old and the size of a raspberry. Just in the last couple of days my morning sickness has started to get just a bit better. I'm hoping that means that it's starting to go away. It did scare me at first that my symptoms were getting better but at 8 weeks the placenta starts taking over. This means that the hormones for the baby are produced from the placenta and not me, because of this some women start to feel a bit better. Obviously I won't feel totally better until 12-14 weeks but at least it is getting better slowly. I just can't wait to have some energy back :) So even though it's still small here is a picture of "the bump" so far.
Hopefully it will be a little bigger when I come home.

great ultrasound today!

After all our worrying we had a great ultrasound today! The baby was measuring right where it should be and the heartbeat was 135 bpm!  They even showed us on the ultrasound where the baby's spine was starting to form! We are super excited and can't believe that it's real. If you look at the ultrasound picture the baby's head is at the top. The little circle at the bottom is called the yolk sac and thats what feeds the baby until it's about 12 weeks or so. Then the placenta takes over and I'll stop feeling sick too!

so tired

the last couple of days I have been EXHAUSTED! It seems no matter what I do or how much sleep I get I am still tired. I slept until 10:30 today and still I want to go back to sleep. I guess I didn't think that you were this tired during pregnancy. Again another symptom that I can thankfully chalk up to the baby hopefully being healthy. That is my main concern right now and I only have to wait 2 more days to find out. The last week I have gotten more nervous as my next appointment gets closer. Just the thought of it makes me scared. I am pretty sure everything is fine but knowing what happened last time I just get scared. I really happy that Sean is coming to this appointment too. We will let everyone know after our ultrasound how it goes.

6 weeks

Yesterday (Saturday) I was 6 weeks pregnant! Here's what it says about the baby at six weeks: You might be coping with full-blown pregnancy symptoms (sorry), but there's plenty of good news too. Your baby's jaw, cheeks, chin, eyes, ears, and nose are beginning to form what will eventually become one adorable face. In addition, her kidneys, liver, and lungs are developing, and her heart is now beating 80 times a minute (and getting faster every day). All this and she's still no bigger than the length of a nail head (about a quarter of an inch) from crown to rump! The baby is the size of a sweet pea!

I am dealing with some morning sickness and it comes at all times. No real throwing up just mostly nausea and a not so good feeling. So far it's something I can deal with if it means getting a healthy baby in the end :) Only 5 more days until we have another ultrasound and I'm very excited and hoping that everything is ok. With all the symptoms I've had I'm pretty hopeful that everything is going to be fine. I didn't have any of these symptoms last time so I'm taking that as a good sign. Can't wait!

Consignments Sales

Saturday morning Sean and I ventured out to a consignment sale someone had told me about. It's for baby, children and maternity only. They don't have a store just have sales about once a season. There are more though since we live in a big city then just once a season! This one we went to is called "Just between friends." I was nervous that it would be super crowded with people grabbing stuff all over the place. I also thought it would be picked over since we were going on the second day. I was WRONG! People must not know about these sales because there was only 3 other ladies shopping in the entire convention center! Plus tons of clothes, toys, blankets, shoes, books, etc....... I can't even name all the things they had. It was pretty amazing. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean everything was as well as some things were still brand new with the tags on them :) We ended up finding a used maternity pillow that I was super excited about since it's pretty expensive in the stores. We also bought a pack of burp cloths that were brand new, a newborn sleep sack, and two maternity tops.
We went home and I tried out my pillow right away. It was about 5 minutes later when we realized that the pillow must have been from a home with a cat. I was sneezing, my face was red and my entire body was itching.  We went back to the sale the next day and thankfully (even though all sales are final) they took it back for store credit. Since it was the last day of the sale everything (except tags with stars on them) were 50% off. WOO HOO! Again I thought it would be picked over but there was still tons of stuff to look through. My favorite thing we got was the little cable knit sweater with the button on the shoulder. All the pajamas were $1-$3! I will definitely be attending the next sale. I'm super excited since the next one we will know the gender. This time we only got gender neutral items.

Saw the baby again

On friday I was having some pain on my left side (it's all ok, I promise). So my doctor had me come in for another ultrasound to make sure everything was ok. Saw the baby again (sorry no picture this time) and the sac was bigger and there was a yolk sac. I was also measuring 3 days ahead of where I am suppose to be so the doctor said if next time I am also measuring ahead then they will move my due date up. I'm just excited that the baby is growing FASTER this time. Again happy to hear good news :)

I guess I should start from the beginning

This blog is so family and friends can see the progress of our pregnancy while we are living so far from most of you at the moment. Please feel free to comment and I'll try to keep up with this as much as possible.
Our first ultrasound went great and I wanted to post a picture of the little tiny sac that showed on the screen. This was only me 4 weeks pregnant and showing anything on an ultrasound this early is a GREAT sign. Also my beta hcg (thats the pregnancy hormone) was 1,187 on Monday and more than doubled on Wednesday at 2,755! Doubling is also a great sign of a healthy pregnancy. The numbers being that high also make it even more great. So far everything being so good makes Sean and I very happy and it makes the worry a lot less.
